  Location – New building in District Police Office Compound, Pathanamthitta

  Pathanamthitta District was formed on 1982 and the Communication wing of Police was established on 02/1989 vide Order No. GO (MS) 166/88 Home Dated 28.12.1988
The sub unit is lead by the Inspector of Police Telecommunication and assisted by SIs, ASIs, HCs and PCs(38).The staffs are engaged with District Control, Cipher Secret Messages, CoB, Maintenance & repair of wireless equipments and District Computer Maintenance Unit. Police Communication over wireless in all Police stations, Police Offices and Police vehicles are done by this Unit. A video conference arrangement is also managed by this unit at the DPC office.

District Computer Maintenance(DCMU) unit- The entire Computers and Electrical and Electronic equipments of Police system in Pathanamthitta are repaired and maintained by Telecommn. wing.

Repeater Stations
  The District Communication Tower (Repeater) is situated at Chanadanappally.
  Moozhiyar Repeater Centre (MRC) is another Repeater which is functioned in connection with Sabarimala Festival season only. In addition to the above, the following towns are covered in VHF High Band communication Adoor, Pandalam, Thiruvalla, Pathanamthitta, Ranny and Kozhenchery for the regulation of traffic.

Other Special Communication Arrangements

  • The world famous Pilgrim centre Sabarimala comes under the Communication circle of this sub Unit. The Monthly Pooja and other routine festivals are successfully carried out by the Police Telecommunication wing.
  • The communication of famous Aranmula Boat Race, Traffic Control of Chakkulathukavu Ponkala festival, the famous Maramon Convention and Cherukolpuzha Hindu Matha Convention are carried out.
  • The communication in the guard post of Sabarigiri Project Dam sites is provided.
Some areas in district are not getting public Mobile communication due to Geographical specialty/diversity. But the department wireless communication is covering the entire area.
