          Telecommunication unit KKD-Rural is entrusted with upkeep and maintenance of all communication channels and equipments to provide Telecommunication network to the day to day policing in the Rural Police District. Telecommunication unit of Kozhikkode rural is headed by Inspector of Police, Telecommunication. About 35 numbers of Police officials in the rank of Sub Inspectors, Assistant Sub Inspectors, Head Constables and Police Constables from Kerala Police Telecommunication is working in this unit for the upkeep and maintenance of communication equipments and channels. For the repair and maintenance of Computers in the District, a District Computer Maintenance Unit (DCMU) is also functioning within the Telecommunication Unit. A video conference arrangement is also managed by this unit at the DPC office.

Computer Back born network Node is operating at DPC office.
District VHF Repeater Station is working at Kurichiyar mala, Wayanad with another linking repeater at Thamarassery Town, another one repeater is installed at the Wayanad Churam, The Wayanad ghat road (hilly hairpin road).  Formerly the District Repeater was located at Kattullamala up to the year 2008. In the year 2008, a Telecommunication Police Constable Sri.Nishanth was died after a Lightning while he was on that Repeater station duty and that repeater station closed down and shifted to Kurichiyarmala Wayanad due to non security.
